Welcome to The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’m Lindsey Wilson, former pro athlete, high-performance mindset coach, and entrepreneur and here we’ll dive into everything mindset. I have lived all these mindset tools- as an athlete, a business owner, a mom, a human. And together, you and I will sit in the student chair and study mindset. We’ll work on our own mindset and even talk about how to build a mindset coaching business if that’s your thing. With experts in the field, athletes, coaches, and other high-performance individuals, we are going to nerd out on the mental side of the game. This podcast is all about being a student of mindset. We believe mindset work isn’t about fixing or changing, it’s becoming more of who you were always meant to be. Here we work on our mindset. The good stuff, the hard stuff, the stuff most people won’t do. We have officially changed our name from The Inner Game to The Mindset Coach Academy podcast because we are specifically looking to grow as coaches and students of mindset. We’ll interview top experts in the field and high-achieving individuals about how mindset has brought them success, as well as dive deep into mindset training. New episodes will drop every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, as well as short 5-minute episodes every Mental Monday. Our first two guests are badass female Olympians successful on the playing field and rocking it off the field as well. We’ll start off with former Olympic Volleyball Player Courtney Thompson.

Today on the podcast, I am joined by founder and CEO of Master Your Mindset, sales psychology expert, and former two-sport, D1 athlete, Collin Henderson!
As a 7 time author, podcast host, Fortune 500 speaker, online course creator, and regular contributor to Russell Wilson’s Limitless Minds, Collin’s innovative ideas bridge the gap between athletes and high performers in business. Collin brings his athlete mindset to everything he does, and provides insight that is truly global and applicable to everyone.
Oh, and did I mention he’s a husband and father to 5 great kiddos? This man truly does it all.
Collin’s is truly a story of transformation. From wrestling with crippling anxiety to finding high level success in sports, sales, and in life, Collin is a living example of everything he teaches. His willingness to teach, unique and grounded perspective on mindset work, lightheartedness, and refreshing vulnerability made my episode with Collin truly memorable and 100% worth a listen.

Here’s a glance at this episode:
[3:25] Collin begins with his ‘why’. He shares about a memorable moment in his early sports career and how a sales mentor helped put him on his path to becoming the confident and successful person he is today.
[11:17] What does the roadmap look like for starting a business? Collin shares an overview of his GPS business-building model and why he believes in giving your “best stuff” away.
[14:42] Collin gets vulnerable about his lifelong relationship with anxiety. From practicing public speaking through Toastmasters to doing free mental training consultations at Starbucks, Collin built his business with a growth mindset, dedication to his craft, and champion-level bravery.
[17:54] “Sales psychology beats sales strategy” Collin explains how his background in sales launched every other part of his career. Then, he launches into his ideology around making a sale. His first piece of sales advice? Be a human.
[27:12] Lindsey and Collin chat about the importance of finding the right clients and why, as Collin puts it, “The person with nothing to prove is the most dangerous person in the room”.
[32:37] How do you become more comfortable being on camera and being in front of people? Collin makes the case that “different is better than better… and boring will put you out of business”.
[41:12] Your self-image comfort zone directly reflects how much you charge. From bringing engaging activities to assigning pre-session homework, Collin explains how you can make yourself stand out, add immense value to your services, and create recurring customers with just a little extra effort.
[43:57] Lindsey shoots off a few rapid-fire questions to get to know Collin. With each question, Lindsey peels back the curtain back on Collin’s personal routines, what he’s reading, what he consumes from a content perspective, and what brings him joy.
[47:49] What’s your story? The brain learns through stories. Whether you’re a teacher or a coach, you will increase your impact tenfold by simply reframing your lessons as stories and metaphors.
[50:16] Lindsey and Collin wrap up their episode by talking about Collin’s latest (and favorite) book he’s written, “Quiet Mind”. And finally, Collin offers a quick explanation of his cornerstone exercise for kids and adults, The BEST Method.

How I’m Building My $10M Confidence
Wednesday Jul 13, 2022
Wednesday Jul 13, 2022
What’s your big goal right now? Great! Now take that goal and 10x it.
Yes, really.
In today’s podcast, I’m talking about confidence in a new way; one that is personal to me as I work to grow my business and set big monetary goals for myself.
As I work on my own mindset around my big goals, I’m reminded time and time again that goals are not a matter of self-discipline, they’re a matter of confidence.
Why?
Because nobody works toward something that they think is impossible.
But despite what you may think, being confident isn’t believing 100% that your goals are achievable. Being confident means waking up every day and focusing on what is in your control. Being confident means living like your big goals are achievable. Living like the person you want to become. The person who makes 10 million dollars, or writes 10 novels, or wins 10 superbowls.
Who are you? What do you want to accomplish with your life? What do you tell people is important to you? Are your actions in line with that?
Take your big goal, 10x it, and start living like you’ll accomplish it.
In today’s extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’ll share:
- How to create powerful affirmations to help you achieve your stretch goals
- Why shrinking your goals is never the answer (and what to do instead)
- My big 10x goal & how it influences my day-to-day routine
- A bunch of resources to help you and your athletes become more confident

Monday Jun 27, 2022
Monday Jun 27, 2022
"The best advice I ever got as an entrepreneur was this: Don't let your kids be your excuse."
Lindsey begins today's Mental Monday with a quote that has stuck with her throughout the years.
Convenient excuses are all around us and it's up to us to not let these limiting thoughts get in the way of our dreams.

Guest Interview: John O’Sullivan
Wednesday Jun 22, 2022
Wednesday Jun 22, 2022
Today on the podcast, I am pleased to introduce the founder of Changing The Game Project, author of two #1 best-selling books, podcast host, and internationally known speaker (including TEDx and The U.S. Olympic Committee), John O’Sullivan!
John and I go way back; we’ve spoken at conferences together, we’ve done booths together, and we’ve learned from one another. He’s someone I respect, admire, cheer for, and look up to in the sports world. John is known for his wealth of practical, hands-on knowledge, and his passion for helping parents and coaches show up for their athletes in ways that really matter. He believes in creating a player-centered environment and tough-love coaching with compassion.
What makes this episode stand out as being particularly relevant to parents and coaches is that John talks in-depth about how we can support young people RIGHT NOW, as the ripple effects of COVID-19 impact our world today. He gives sage advice about how you can support your athletes, push your athletes, and also hold space for their unique mindset challenges during this time.
After being a guest on John O’Sullivan’s Way of Champions Podcast, it was so fun to put him in the hot seat and sit in the student’s chair.
I love this conversation, I learned a ton, and I’m sure you will too.

Here’s a glance at this episode:
[4:32] John begins by telling us about his upcoming virtual conference and its impressive line-up of speakers, including Steve Kerr, Dave Aranda, Trevor Ragan, and Ron Adams.
[8:22] How can we support athletes in a COVID-19 world? John talks openly about the importance of addressing athletes’ mental health. He points to a notable increase in eating disorders, anxiety, and divorce. In his words, “in the last two years, the amount of kids I know in [these situations] are probably equivalent to the previous 25 years combined.”
[15:12] When athlete behavior changes, there’s usually something going on behind the scenes. John suggests asking one key question to get the conversation rolling, and shares how at-home stress can manifest on the field. Finally, John explains how he actively works to create a safe and joyful space at practice.
[23:28] John answers the question, “How can you hold athletes to a high standard while they’re struggling?” He likens cognitive injuries to physical injuries and encourages coaches and parents to treat them with compassion while holding them to a ‘rehabilitation plan’.
[29:53] Burnout is REAL. John believes the best way to prevent burnout is to put yourself first, and sometimes that means hitting the brakes. If we can’t take care of ourselves, we’ll never be able to fully show up for others.
[37:12] Peeling back the curtain on his own practice with mindfulness, John knows from experience that just a few minutes a day of mindfulness can be life-changing.
[41:36] John and Lindsey wrap up our episode today with 5 rapid-fire questions. With a quick discussion about Atomic Habits, John’s favorite outdoor activities, his family, and his love of coaching, John leaves us a few final nuggets of wisdom to end the episode!

The Shitty 1st Draft - MM
Monday Jun 13, 2022
Monday Jun 13, 2022
In today's Mental Monday, we are choosing to take action before we feel "ready".
It's easy to get stuck in perfection purgatory, feel overwhelmed, and procrastinate until some magical future date when you think you'll have it all figured out. But Lindsey argues that the better choice is to do a shitty first draft, get it out, and grow from there.
