Welcome to The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’m Lindsey Wilson, former pro athlete, high-performance mindset coach, and entrepreneur and here we’ll dive into everything mindset. I have lived all these mindset tools- as an athlete, a business owner, a mom, a human. And together, you and I will sit in the student chair and study mindset. We’ll work on our own mindset and even talk about how to build a mindset coaching business if that’s your thing. With experts in the field, athletes, coaches, and other high-performance individuals, we are going to nerd out on the mental side of the game. This podcast is all about being a student of mindset. We believe mindset work isn’t about fixing or changing, it’s becoming more of who you were always meant to be. Here we work on our mindset. The good stuff, the hard stuff, the stuff most people won’t do. We have officially changed our name from The Inner Game to The Mindset Coach Academy podcast because we are specifically looking to grow as coaches and students of mindset. We’ll interview top experts in the field and high-achieving individuals about how mindset has brought them success, as well as dive deep into mindset training. New episodes will drop every 2nd and 4th Wednesday of the month, as well as short 5-minute episodes every Mental Monday. Our first two guests are badass female Olympians successful on the playing field and rocking it off the field as well. We’ll start off with former Olympic Volleyball Player Courtney Thompson.

He is a father, husband, coach, podcaster, speaker, and business leader who prides himself on his curiosity, positivity, and authentic way of approaching all facets of his life.
Over the years, Casey has earned a glowing reputation across the board. After achieving record-breaking sales at his company 10 years in a row, Casey went on to write his debut book, “Win the RELATIONSHIP - Not the DEAL”. He’s now the founder of Winning The Relationship, LLC, a consulting firm that provides executive sales leadership and coaching, and he hosts the podcast, The Quarterback DadCast, which offers advice for fathers.

[01:33] Casey starts off the episode by introducing himself. He chats about his kids as well as his background in sports and sales. He introduces his book, his podcast for dads, and his meaningful work as a sales coach.

[32:06] What does a typical day look like for a high performance sales coach? Casey shares his daily routine which includes ice baths, coaching, “throwing boomerangs”, and showing up for his kids.

Extended Episode - 6 Steps to Sell More Mindset Coaching
Wednesday Nov 08, 2023
Wednesday Nov 08, 2023
Today’s episode is all about “sales” - i.e. that little word that so many of us avoid.
Specifically, we’re going to be talking about how to sell mindset and mental performance coaching. But really, these principles can be applied to anything.
I used to hate sales, in fact, I would go out of my way to avoid it. Whether it was selling campfire mints or fundraising at school, I didn’t want any part of it. But when I started my business, I really had to get to the root of it and do some deep mindset work around my aversion to sales. It's the only way I was going to make my dreams happen.
Over time, everything changed.
And now, I’m super excited to share with you 6 tips that completely transformed my own mindset around selling.
If you’re here, you’re probably either a mindset coach already, or are considering becoming one. Regardless of where you’re coming from, I want to be very clear about one thing: Even if you don’t think selling is for you, it is.
Because learning to sell is less about money and more about learning (and owning) your worth. And when you do that, you force yourself to step up in a bigger, more impactful way. So whether or not there’s a money exchange, It’s still really important to go through this process and learn these skills.
One of my favorite things about building a mindset coaching business, is that you are your first client. Practicing what you preach is the key to moving forward. From building self-belief, to visualizing your success, when you directly apply mindset work to your business, you’ll see a direct impact on your own life and your ability to coach your clients.

High Vibe vs. Low Vibe - MM
Monday Nov 06, 2023
Monday Nov 06, 2023
We all have good days... and bad days. And sometimes our bad days catch us by surprise.
But starting the day on the wrong foot doesn't mean you have to end it that way. And the same goes for "high vibe" days. Those don't have to feel random and out of your control.
🌞 If you're operating at a high vibe, what can you do to keep that momentum going?
🌙 If you're a low vibe, what can you do to turn your day around?
In this Mental Monday, I'll coach you through it.

Interview Episode - I Can’t Wait to be Patient with Dr. Rob Bell
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Wednesday Oct 25, 2023
Allow me to introduce you to mental performance coach, and the author of your next favorite book, Dr. Rob Bell.
As a fellow trailblazer in the world of mental performance training, Dr. Rob Bell has accomplished so much, personally and professionally. He is a remarkable endurance athlete and an ironman, and has a passion for sports like golf, swim, ping pong, and chess (yep, we’re calling chess a sport). Rob has also devoted his life to helping others through training teams, organizations, and coaches on mental toughness.
I’ve admired Dr. Rob Bell’s work from afar for many years, but somehow it took recording a podcast episode to get us to finally sit down and have a real conversation. And I can tell you honestly that I’ve never had a conversation quite like this one before.
I asked Rob to join me today because he just finished up his eighth, yes, EIGHTH book, I Can’t Wait To Be Patient . I can’t recommend this book enough. The main theme of his book (and our episode) revolves around (what Rob calls) “the next big topic in mental training.” And that is… PATIENCE. Why it matters, how to practice it, and how it impacts confidence and long-term success, etc.
One of my favorite moments from the episode is when Rob said this: “I think we look at patience as something that is very passive. But that’s not the case at all. It’s about knowing when to be urgent and how to be patient”.
It was hard to choose just one quote, this episode is so dang quotable.
Rob is not only as cool and nice as I hoped, he’s so generous with his time and knowledge, and he has this calm and focused way of bringing clarity to abstract ideas that don’t often get talked about in mental training. The work Rob is doing and writing about is pushing this industry forward, and I can’t wait to see all the conversations and research he inspires.
Enjoy the episode, and make sure to get your hands on his book, I Can’t Wait To Be Patient by Dr. Rob Bell.

Here’s a glance at the episode…
[2:55] Rob just released book number 8. He starts the episode by chatting with Lindsey about his book-writing process and shares a quick, snapshot description of the book’s main theme.
[7:48] Rob argues that our perception of time has to do with supply and demand, which changes over time.
[12:46] Lindsey asks Rob what his “transitions” are like, in a practical way so that he can toggle between work and life.
[16:48] “We have to play the game, not the context” Rob shares some background on working with golfers and how he coaches his athletes to use mental training from the start of practice.
[19:15] What is the fallout of being “Urgent towards the wrong things?”. Lindsey shares how she sees athletes struggle with this concept every day. Rob explains the problem with the way most people think about patience.
[24:10] “Show me someone that’s confident, and I’ll show you someone that’s patient”. Rob explains how confidence and patience are deeply intertwined and what farmers can teach us about it.
[29:05] Lindsey asks Rob to share some practical tips for coaches who want to be patient, find a rhythm, and trust the results. Hint: It all comes back to time.

Extended Episode - How I Made My First 100k (and What I Would Do Differently)
Wednesday Oct 11, 2023
Wednesday Oct 11, 2023
How much can nearly two decades of experience as a mental coach really teach you?
When I first got into mindset coaching, Facebook was barely a thing, Tik Tok didn’t exist, most people hadn’t heard of sports psychology or mindset coaching, and the sitting president was George W. Bush.
So yeah, It’s been a JOURNEY.
On this extended episode of The Mindset Coach Academy Podcast, I’m boiling everything I learned down into 5 basic principles to help you build a solid coaching practice from the jump. These principles are not based on trends, they are timeless.
From making my first workbooks on powerpoint slides, to what certifications I chose to get (and why I chose them over a masters in sports psychology), I’m putting it all out there.
The reason I made this episode is because I know that many of you are sitting on the sidelines wondering which steps you should take. Or maybe you’ve started your own business and it’s a lot harder than you thought it was going to be and you’re getting frustrated.
Press play to get clarity about where you’re wasting time, energy, and resources, AND see a path forward to reach your goals. Whether that’s 10k, 100k, or your first million, it doesn’t really matter, the same fundamentals apply.
Whatever your goal is, I hope this episode awakens a belief in you that you can do this.
Let’s dive in.
